  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar for dusting

Method
 

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine granulated sugar, heavy cream, cocoa powder, butter, and salt. Stir over medium heat until the mixture comes to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
  4. Pour the fudge mixture into a greased 8x8-inch square baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  5. Allow the fudge to cool at room temperature for about 2 hours or until set.
  6. Once set, cut the fudge into squares and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
