Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a medium skillet over medium heat until liquefied, about 2 minutes.
  2. Add the peeled and chopped apples, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Cook for 8-10 minutes until the apples are tender and caramelized.
  3. Remove from heat and allow to cool for about 5 minutes.
  4. In individual dessert cups, layer the cooled caramelized apple mixture at the bottom, filling about a third of the cup.
  5. Spoon on a layer of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream, filling just above halfway.
  6. Drizzle caramel sauce over the whipped cream or ice cream.
  7. Refrigerate the assembled cups for at least 30 minutes before serving.
