Ingredients

For the Cocktail
  • 2 ounces vodka Substitution: Use non-alcoholic vodka for a mocktail version.
  • 1 ounce Triple Sec Omit in mocktail version.
  • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice For stronger lemon flavor, use juice from 2 lemons instead of the standard measure.
  • 1 ounce simple syrup Adjust the amount based on preferred sweetness.
  • 1 handful fresh blueberries Use ripe blueberries for best results.
  • cucumber slices Optional, enhance freshness and add a light, crisp note.
  • ice Use fresh ice for best results.
  • thin lemon slices For garnish, use fresh lemon slices for garnish.

Equipment

  • cocktail shaker
  • strainer

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a cocktail shaker, pour in 2 ounces of vodka, 1 ounce of Triple Sec (or tonic water for the mocktail), and 1 ounce of fresh lemon juice. Add a generous handful of fresh blueberries and, if using, a few cucumber slices. To sweeten, stir in 1 ounce of simple syrup.
  2. Fill the cocktail shaker with fresh ice, packing it up to the top. Secure the lid tightly and use a muddler to gently press down on the blueberries and cucumber slices for about 15 seconds.
  3. Shake the cocktail vigorously for about 30 seconds, until you feel the shaker getting icy cold.
  4. Remove the cap of the shaker and position a strainer over the opening. Carefully pour the vibrant mixture into two chilled martini glasses.
  5. Garnish each glass with a couple of fresh blueberries, a slice of cucumber, and a thin lemon slice on the rim.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy responsibly.
