Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare Noodles: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the dry lasagna noodles and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water, then drizzle with olive oil.
  2. Cook Meat Sauce: In a skillet, heat olive oil, add onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant. Add ground beef, cook until browned. Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, parsley, and salt; simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Mix Cheese Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta, half of the mozzarella, half of the parmesan, and the beaten egg. Mix until smooth.
  4. Layer Lasagna: Preheat oven to 375°F. In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce, add noodles, cheese mixture, more sauce, and repeat until ingredients are used. Finish with meat sauce and remaining cheeses.
  5. Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  6. Rest Before Serving: Let the lasagna rest for 10-15 minutes after baking before slicing.
