  • 2 cups bone broth Vegetable broth works for a lighter option.
  • 1 can canned pumpkin Fresh pumpkin can be used when in season.
For the Spice Party
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • to taste sea salt
  • to taste black pepper

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat the oil in an Instant Pot or large pot over medium-high heat for about 1 minute.
  2. Add ground meat, breaking it apart, and sauté for 3-5 minutes until browned.
  3. Incorporate diced onion, minced garlic, and diced bell pepper. Stir for 4-6 minutes until tender.
  4. Add fire roasted tomatoes, cacao powder, and spices. Mix well and cook for about 2 minutes.
  5. Pour in bone broth and canned pumpkin, stir until combined.
  6. If using an Instant Pot, seal the lid and set to cook on high pressure for 10 minutes. For stovetop, let simmer for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Adjust seasoning with sea salt and black pepper, serve hot with desired toppings.
