Ingredients

For the Wontons
  • 2 cups Vegetable oil for frying
  • 14 pieces Wonton wrappers cut in half diagonally
For the Creamy Filling
  • 8 oz Cream cheese room temperature
  • 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 cup Cooked crab or imitation crab
For the Toppings
  • 1 piece Hass avocado pitted, peeled, and diced
  • 1 piece Persian cucumber thinly sliced
  • 2 stalks Green onions thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup Sweet chili sauce for drizzling
  • 2 tablespoons Toasted sesame seeds for sprinkling

Equipment

  • Deep fryer or large skillet
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Baking sheet

Method

Frying and Preparing
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep-fryer or large skillet to 350°F (180ºC). Carefully fry the wonton halves in small batches for about 30 seconds, or until golden brown and crispy.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the room-temperature cream cheese and mayonnaise. Mix thoroughly until smooth and creamy. Gently fold in the cooked crab or imitation crab.
  3. Preheat your oven's broiler while arranging the fried wontons on a baking sheet in a single layer. Spoon the crab mixture over each wonton and broil for 1-2 minutes until warmed and slightly melted.
  4. Top your nachos with diced avocado and sliced Persian cucumber, scatter green onions on top, drizzle with sweet chili sauce, and finish with toasted sesame seeds.
