Step-by-Step Instructions for Creamed Corn
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons of flour with 1 cup of whole milk until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Once melted, add 1 finely chopped shallot and sauté for about 1 minute.
  3. Add 4 cups of frozen sweet corn, 1 cup of heavy cream, and 1 teaspoon of dried thyme to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes.
  4. Gradually stir in the flour and milk mixture. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens.
