Equipment

  • mini muffin pans
  • mixing bowls
  • Piping bag
  • cookie scoop

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your mini muffin pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the Devil's Food Cake Mix, large eggs, and canola or vegetable oil. Mix in black food coloring if desired.
  3. Scoop the dough into the greased mini muffin pans, filling them about two-thirds full.
  4. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until edges look firm and centers are still soft. Make an indent in the center after removing from oven.
  5. Cool the cookie cups in the pans for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  6. Beat the softened unsalted butter in a medium bowl until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, salt, and milk to reach a spreadable consistency, adding green food coloring last.
  7. Fill a piping bag with the green buttercream frosting and pipe it into the indented centers of each cooled cookie cup.
  8. Decorate with round green sprinkles, Halloween sprinkles, candy eyeballs, and insert pretzel sticks as stir sticks.
  9. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3-4 days.
