  • 1/4 tsp ginger adjust based on taste
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg adjust based on taste

  • 2 medium Granny Smith apples diced
For the Frosting
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce for drizzling

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt unsalted butter in a skillet over medium heat, stirring until golden liquid, then cool.
  3. In a bowl, mix cooled butter with softened butter until fluffy, then gradually add sugars until creamy.
  4. Beat in the egg, apple juice concentrate, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and spices; gradually add to the wet mixture.
  6. Toss diced apples in flour, then fold into the cookie dough.
  7. Scoop dough into 9 equal balls and place on the prepared baking sheet with space in between.
  8. Bake for 12 minutes until lightly golden around edges; cookies may look underbaked.
  9. Cool cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Beat softened cream cheese and butter until smooth, then gradually mix in powdered sugar and caramel sauce.
  11. Frost cooled cookies generously with the frosting and top with diced apples and more caramel sauce.
