Baking Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 315°F (157°C).
- Prepare your cake pans by lining with parchment paper and wrapping the sides with aluminum foil.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk until blended.
- In another bowl, whisk together vegetable oil, eggs, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and frothy.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
- Pour the batter into prepared pans and bake for 40-43 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool for about 10 minutes before removing from pans. Cool completely on a rack.
- For the buttercream, whip softened unsalted butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and pureed strawberries.
- Once cooled, assemble the cake by layering and frosting with strawberry buttercream.
