Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Whisk the egg mixture by combining the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
  2. Prepare the slow cooker by spraying the insert with nonstick spray.
  3. Layer one-third of the thawed hash browns in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  4. Add one-third of the cubed ham and chopped onions on top of the hash browns.
  5. Repeat the layering process two more times with the remaining ingredients.
  6. Add one-third of the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the last layer.
  7. Pour the whisked egg mixture evenly over the layered ingredients.
  8. Cover and refrigerate the casserole overnight.
  9. On the day of serving, cook the casserole on low for 4 to 5 hours.
  10. Let the casserole rest for 30 minutes before slicing.
  11. Serve warm with toast, fresh fruit, or a light salad.
