Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a rapid boil. Add the lasagna noodles and cook according to package instructions, slightly undercooking them. Drain and lay them flat.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage for 7 to 10 minutes. Drain excess fat, stir in garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning. Pour in marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the grated Parmesan. Blend until smooth.
- In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Layer three lasagna noodles, half the ricotta mixture, and a third of the mozzarella. Repeat the process.
- Add another layer of meat sauce, noodles, the remaining ricotta, and another third of mozzarella. Cover with the remaining meat sauce and top with the rest of the mozzarella.
- Sprinkle the remaining grated Parmesan cheese on top before baking.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for another 20 minutes until golden.
- Let the lasagna rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
