  • 2 cups ripe strawberries washed and hulled
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar adjust if strawberries are sweet
  • 1-3 tablespoons light brown sugar adjust based on sweetness of strawberries

  • 1 handful fresh basil finely chopped
  • 1 handful fresh mint finely chopped

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Wash and hull 2 cups of ripe strawberries, then dice them into small pieces and place in a mixing bowl.
  2. Sprinkle in 1-3 tablespoons of light brown sugar, and drizzle with 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar. Add cracked black pepper to taste and toss gently.
  3. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit for about 15 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  4. Finely chop a handful of fresh basil and mint, then fold into the strawberry mixture.
  5. Transfer to a serving bowl and enjoy immediately.
