Traditional Dill Version
  • 1 leaf Bay Leaf Provides essential flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Dried Dill Substitute with fresh dill if available.

Preparation Steps
  1. Wash the cucumbers thoroughly, trim both ends, and slice them into ¼-inch rounds.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine water, vinegar, sugar, kosher salt, mustard seeds, black peppercorns, and chilies. Heat over medium until dissolved, about 5-7 minutes. Allow to cool.
  3. In a glass jar, layer cucumbers with garlic and onions for Sweet and Spicy; for Traditional Dill, include dried dill and bay leaf.
  4. Pour the cooled brine over the cucumbers until completely submerged. Press down gently.
  5. Seal the jar and refrigerate for at least 48 hours to develop flavors.
