Ingredients

For the Ribs
  • 2 pounds country-style pork ribs This hearty cut ensures your ribs stay juicy and flavorful throughout the cooking process.
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt Enhances the savory taste; feel free to substitute with sea salt if needed.
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes Adds a delightful kick; omit if you prefer a milder flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper Provides depth to the dish; white pepper can be a good alternative.
For the Sticky Sauce
  • 1/2 cup hoisin sauce This sweet and savory ingredient creates a delectable glaze; teriyaki sauce works well as a substitute.
  • 1 tablespoon sambal chili paste Introduces heat and complexity; sriracha can offer a milder flavor profile.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Provides necessary saltiness and moisture; use tamari to keep it gluten-free.
  • 2 tablespoons honey Adds a touch of natural sweetness; for a vegan option, try maple syrup instead.
For Aromatics
  • 4 cloves chopped garlic An aromatic base that enhances overall flavor; garlic powder can be used in a pinch.
  • 2 teaspoons chopped ginger Infuses a zesty warmth; ground ginger can be used as a substitute but fresh is best.
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro Freshness that brightens up the dish; swap with green onions if desired.
