Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for Frankenstein Rice Krispie Bars
  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients and tools. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with butter or line it with parchment paper for easy removal later. Measure out your Rice Krispies cereal, marshmallows, and butter.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt 3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Once melted, add 10 ounces of mini marshmallows, stirring constantly until melted and smooth, about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Pour the Rice Krispies cereal into the melted marshmallow mixture, stirring gently to coat the cereal evenly, about 2–3 minutes.
  4. Transfer the mixture into your prepared baking pan. Press the mixture firmly and evenly into the pan to create a solid base, about 5 minutes.
  5. Allow the bars to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes until firm to the touch.
  6. Once cooled, add a few drops of green food coloring and gently mix it in. Use icing or melted chocolate to create the mouth and attach candy eyes.
  7. Cut the bars into squares or rectangles and arrange them on a platter. Enjoy at Halloween parties or as a sweet treat!
