Ingredients

  • 1 package Pre-made dough Saves time; use homemade if desired.
For the Filling
  • 8 oz Cream cheese Substitutes: mascarpone or ricotta.
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar Sifted.
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract Use pure vanilla for best flavor.
  • 2 cups Diced apples Substitute pears if preferred.
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon Use generously.
  • 0.25 tsp Nutmeg Use generously.
For the Crumble Topping
  • 0.75 cup Flour
  • 0.5 cup Brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup Cubed cold butter Keep cold.
For the Glaze
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp Milk (for glaze) Adjust as needed for thickness.

Method
 

Dough Preparation
  1. Roll out the pre-made dough on a floured surface until 1/4 inch thick. Cut into squares or circles.
Make the Filling
  1. Beat cream cheese until smooth. Gradually blend in sifted powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Fold in diced apples and spices.
Assemble the Buns
  1. Place a spoonful of cheesecake filling on each dough piece. Fold or roll to encase the filling, sealing the edges.
Prepare the Crumble Topping
  1. Mix flour, brown sugar, and cubed butter until resembling coarse crumbs.
Bake the Buns
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake buns for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Prepare the Glaze
  1. Whisk powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Adjust milk to desired consistency for glazing.
