- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bring salted water to a boil, add ziti pasta, and cook until al dente for about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a Dutch oven over medium-high heat, brown Italian sausage, diced onion, and minced garlic for about 8 minutes.
- Drain excess fat, then stir in marinara sauce, tomato sauce, sea salt, Italian seasoning, and heavy cream. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Add drained ziti pasta and 1½ cups of shredded mozzarella cheese to the sauce. Mix gently.
- Pour mixture into a 9x13 baking dish, topping with fresh mozzarella and remaining shredded mozzarella.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes until cheese is golden.
