Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and butter a 1.5 to 2-quart baking dish with about 4 tablespoons of melted butter.
  2. In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons of butter. Add heavy cream, corn syrup, and brown sugar, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in rum and vanilla.
  3. Slice the bananas and toss them in the warm caramel sauce. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a bowl, mix oats, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  5. Stir in walnuts and evenly distribute the topping over the bananas.
  6. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the sauce bubbles.
  7. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving warm with vanilla ice cream.
