- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in cold unsalted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add in the egg and stir gently to form a cohesive dough. Press firmly into the bottom of the baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, combine the peaches, brown sugar, cornstarch, ground cinnamon and nutmeg. Toss until fully coated.
- Spread the peach filling evenly over the crust in the baking dish.
- Sprinkle the reserved crumb mixture over the top of the peach layer.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the filling bubbles slightly around the edges.
- Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before slicing into squares.
