Step-by-Step Instructions for Creamed Corn
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and whole milk until smooth and well combined.
  2. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the diced shallot and sauté for about 1 minute.
  3. Add the frozen sweet corn, heavy cream, and dried thyme to the skillet. Stir and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  4. Pour in the flour and milk mixture from Step 1, stirring continuously for another 3-4 minutes.
  5. Blend 1-2 cups of the corn mixture until smooth, then return it to the skillet and stir to combine.
