  • 1 each Egg whisked
For the Filling
  • 9 tablespoons Ricotta Cheese or 135g, can substitute with mascarpone
  • 9 tablespoons Chocolate Chips or 126g, can substitute with fresh fruits or white chocolate
For the Topping
  • 1 tablespoon Coarse Sugar can substitute with demerara or turbinado sugars

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Thaw the Puff Pastry at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C).
  3. Cut the puff pastry into 9 equal squares about 4x4 inches.
  4. Fill each square with about 1 tablespoon of ricotta cheese, leaving a 1-2 cm edge.
  5. Brush the edges of each pastry square with the whisked egg.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips and coarse sugar on top of the ricotta in each square.
  7. Bake the pastry squares for approximately 15 minutes or until golden-brown.
  8. Cool slightly before serving warm.
