Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil, then add the jumbo pasta shells. Cook them for about 8-10 minutes until they are al dente. Drain and run under cold water to cool.
  2. Prepare the Filling: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef or Italian sausage, cooking for 5-7 minutes until browned. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
  3. Mix the Filling Ingredients: Combine the cooked meat with ricotta cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, and egg in a mixing bowl. Add herbs, salt, and pepper; mix until incorporated.
  4. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Fill the Shells: Fill each cooled pasta shell with a spoonful of the meat and cheese mixture. Arrange in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  6. Add the Marinara Sauce: Pour marinara sauce evenly over the stuffed shells, ensuring full coverage.
  7. Top with Cheese: Sprinkle remaining mozzarella over the top of the shells.
  8. Bake the Dish: Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  9. Garnish and Serve: Let sit for 5 minutes before serving. Optionally garnish with parsley.
