Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, sprinkle active dry yeast over lukewarm milk and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, ground cardamom, and salt in a mixer bowl. Add yeast mixture, egg, and melted butter. Mix on low speed until a loose dough forms.
  3. Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  5. Punch down the risen dough, divide into 12 pieces, and shape into balls. Arrange on a baking sheet.
  6. Cover rolls with a towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Whisk egg with milk for egg wash, and brush the tops.
