Marinade
  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 2 medium Limes Juiced and zested
  • 2 tablespoons Fish Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce Low-sodium preferred
  • 1 teaspoon Granulated Sugar Can be substituted with honey
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh Ginger Grated
Fish
  • 4 fillets White Fish Cod or tilapia are ideal
Garnish
  • 1 small Red Chili Thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup Fresh Cilantro Chopped, reserve some for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Rinse the white fish fillets under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together lime juice, garlic, fish sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and ginger until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Place fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let marinate at room temperature for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Transfer the marinated fish to a steaming dish. Sprinkle with sliced red chili and half of the cilantro.
  5. Set up your steamer and bring water to a gentle boil. Steam fish for 10-12 minutes until opaque and flaky.
  6. Remove fish from the pot, garnish with remaining cilantro, and serve with desired sides.
