  3. Season with black pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and add maple syrup. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  4. Toast Belgian-style waffles until golden brown and crispy, approximately 5 minutes.
  5. Assemble the sandwich with a warm waffle, brisket mixture, and cheddar cheese on top.
  6. Add optional mustard or aioli on the second waffle before pressing it down to complete the sandwich.
