Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Melt ½ cup of unsalted butter in a 9x9-inch baking dish for about 5 minutes in the oven.
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine sliced fresh peaches with ¼ cup of granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and heat over high flame for about 5 minutes.
  4. Mix 1 cup of all-purpose flour, ¾ cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and a pinch of salt in a stand mixer, then add ¾ cup of milk and mix gently until just moistened.
  5. Pour the batter over the melted butter without stirring. Spoon the prepared peach mixture evenly over the batter, also without stirring.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
