- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a 9x9-inch baking dish, place the unsalted butter and set it in the preheating oven to melt completely, about 5 minutes.
- Pit and slice the fresh peaches. In a medium saucepan, combine the sliced peaches, 1/4 cup sugar, and a splash of lemon juice. Cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes until the peaches soften slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 3/4 cup sugar, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Make a well in the center.
