  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes adjust based on your spice preference
  • 1 tsp dried oregano Italian seasoning can be a great substitute
  • 1 tsp za’atar optional for extra complexity

  • 2.5 cups low sodium chicken broth vegetable broth works for vegetarian option
For the Greens & Finishing Touch
  • 2 cups spinach substitute with kale or Swiss chard if desired

Cooking Steps
  1. Season the shrimp with sweet paprika, salt, and black pepper, then coat with olive oil.
  2. Sear the shrimp in a skillet with olive oil and butter for about 1 minute on each side.
  3. Sauté shallot in the same pan for 2 minutes, then stir in minced garlic and cook another 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add orzo, oregano, red pepper flakes, and black pepper, mixing well and toasting for about 1 minute.
  5. Pour chicken broth into the pan, bring to a boil, then simmer covered for 10-15 minutes until orzo is tender.
  6. Stir in spinach until wilted, then mix in lemon juice, Parmesan, and feta until melted.
  7. Gently fold cooked shrimp back into the pan and heat for an additional minute.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with toasted pine nuts if desired.
