Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for Peanut Butter Stuffed Brownies
  1. Microwave the creamy conventional peanut butter for about 30 seconds until pourable. Line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper, spread the melted peanut butter evenly at the bottom, and freeze for 1 hour.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the unsalted butter and semisweet baking chocolate. Melt together over a double boiler or in the microwave, stirring until smooth. Stir in granulated sugar until fully combined.
  3. Once the chocolate mixture cools slightly, add the large eggs, additional egg yolk, and vanilla extract. Whisk vigorously until blended. Fold in all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and sea salt until just combined.
  4. Pour half of the brownie batter into the lined pan, smooth it out, then place the frozen peanut butter on top. Pour the remaining brownie batter over to cover the peanut butter layer completely.
  5. Bake for approximately 30 minutes. A toothpick inserted should come out with a few moist crumbs. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before slicing.
