  • ½ teaspoon matcha tea powder Sifted
  • 1 cup sparkling water or club soda For serving
For Sweetening
  • 1 tablespoon sugar or sweetener Or substitute with honey, agave, or maple syrup

  • ¼ cup water Room temperature or hot for whisking

Method
 

Matcha Soda Preparation
  1. Sift the matcha tea powder into a bowl to ensure there are no clumps.
  2. Add room temperature or hot water to the sifted matcha and whisk until smooth.
  3. Pour the matcha mixture into an ice cube tray and freeze for 2-3 hours.
  4. Whisk the remaining matcha powder with another ¼ cup of water until foamy.
  5. Place matcha ice cubes in a glass, add sweetener, then pour in whisked matcha.
  6. Top it off with sparkling water and stir lightly.
  7. Serve immediately and garnish with mint leaves or citrus slices if desired.
