Step-by-Step Instructions for Classic Meatloaf Recipe
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy clean-up.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1½ pounds of lean ground beef, 1 cup of diced onion, ¾ cup of bread crumbs, ⅓ cup of milk, and 2 eggs.
  3. Add in 1 teaspoon each of tomato paste, garlic powder, onion powder, ½ teaspoon of salt, and ¼ teaspoon of black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf or press it into a greased loaf pan. Transfer to the lined baking sheet.
  5. Bake uncovered for 40 minutes in the preheated oven.
