Cooking Steps
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté for about 5 minutes until softened.
- Increase the heat to medium-high, add ground beef, breaking it apart and cooking for about 8 minutes until browned.
- Lower the heat back to medium, stir in tomato sauce, sliced olives, and raisins. Add cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
- Cover the skillet, reduce heat to low, and let it simmer gently for about 20 minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve warm over white rice, with black beans and fried plantains.
