  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil or avocado oil for robust flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Lime Juice fresh lime juice is best.
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder or taco seasoning for convenience.
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin can be omitted if needed.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder or fresh minced garlic.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt adjust to taste.
  • 1 pound Cod Fillets tilapia can be a substitute.
  • 2 tablespoons Butter or use olive oil for a lighter option.
For the Creamy Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise or Greek yogurt for a lighter version.
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream or more mayo if preferred.
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha Sauce adjust for preferred spice level.
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika regular paprika can be used.
For Toppings
  • 8 pieces Corn Tortillas warm them before serving.
  • 2 cups Shredded Cabbage mix of green or red cabbage.
  • 1 medium Red Onion slice thinly.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Cilantro optional, substitute with parsley.
  • 1 lime Lime Wedges for serving.
  • 1/2 cup Grated Cotija Cheese optional, feta makes a great alternative.
  • 1 medium Jalapeño optional, finely chop.

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Prepare Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together olive oil, lime juice, chili powder, ground cumin, garlic powder, and salt until well combined.
  2. Marinate Fish: Place cod fillets in a ZipLoc bag, pour the marinade over the fish, and refrigerate for 30-40 minutes.
  3. Make Sauce: Combine mayonnaise, sour cream, lime juice, sriracha, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and salt in a bowl; mix until smooth.
  4. Prep Toppings: Shred cabbage, slice onion and cilantro, warm corn tortillas in a dry skillet.
  5. Cook Fish: Melt butter in a skillet and cook fish for 3-5 minutes per side until golden brown and flaky.
  6. Assemble Tacos: Place cooked fish on tortillas, drizzle with sauce, and top with cabbage, onion, cilantro, and more.
