Ingredients
  

For the Filling
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil can be substituted with avocado oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced; garlic powder can be used if unavailable
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger or 1 tsp ground ginger for a quicker alternative
  • 1 medium Shallot can substitute with onion
  • 1 pound Ground Pork or use ground turkey or chicken for leaner option
  • 1 medium Carrot can be replaced with grated zucchini
  • 1 tablespoon Fish Sauce or soy sauce/tamari as gluten-free alternatives
  • 1 tablespoon Tamari gluten-free soy sauce
  • 2 stalks Green Onions chopped; chives can substitute
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro or parsley if preferred
  • Cabbage Leaves can use Napa cabbage for wrapping
For the Dipping Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Tamari
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar-free Maple Syrup or erythritol/stevia as substitutes
  • 1 tablespoon Toasted Sesame Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Lime Juice

Method
 

Preparing Cabbage Rolls
  1. Blanch cabbage leaves in boiling salted water for 1-2 minutes, then transfer to ice bath.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté shallots for 3-4 minutes until soft.
  3. Stir in garlic and ginger, then add ground pork, cooking until browned for 6-8 minutes.
  4. Mix in grated carrot, fish sauce, tamari, green onions, and cilantro for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Cut V-shape at base of each cabbage leaf, fill with 2-3 tablespoons of filling, and roll tightly.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and whisk together the dipping sauce ingredients.
  7. Pour sauce over cabbage rolls in a baking dish and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.
  8. Cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with extra dipping sauce.
