Preparing Cabbage Rolls
- Blanch cabbage leaves in boiling salted water for 1-2 minutes, then transfer to ice bath.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté shallots for 3-4 minutes until soft.
- Stir in garlic and ginger, then add ground pork, cooking until browned for 6-8 minutes.
- Mix in grated carrot, fish sauce, tamari, green onions, and cilantro for another 2-3 minutes.
- Cut V-shape at base of each cabbage leaf, fill with 2-3 tablespoons of filling, and roll tightly.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and whisk together the dipping sauce ingredients.
- Pour sauce over cabbage rolls in a baking dish and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.
- Cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with extra dipping sauce.
