Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare Bain-Marie by filling a small pot with 1/2 cup of water and bring to gentle boil over medium heat. Place a large heatproof bowl on top to melt ingredients safely.
  2. Add 1/4 cup of unsalted butter and 2 cups of regular marshmallows to the bowl. Stir continuously for 2–4 minutes until melted into a smooth paste.
  3. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon of salt and add a few drops of red food coloring into the melted mixture until evenly distributed.
  4. In a separate bowl, measure 4 cups of Rice Bubbles and pour in the warm marshmallow mixture. Gently fold the Rice Bubbles until well-coated.
  5. Lightly coat hands with cooking oil, take handfuls of the mixture, and shape into oval 'brains', pressing gently to create an indent on top.
  6. Use a toothpick dipped in food coloring to draw 'veins' on each shaped brain, creating creepy, intricate designs.
  7. Transfer creations to an airtight container and store in a cool, dry place. Enjoy within a week!
