Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and ½ teaspoon of salt until well combined.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat ½ cup of softened unsalted butter with ½ cup of granulated sugar and ½ cup of brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add 1 large egg and 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture, mixing until fully combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, mixing gently until no flour streaks remain.
  6. Gently stir in 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips using a spatula.
  7. Drop heaping mounds of cookie dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
