Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare Yeast Mixture: Combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: Whisk together flour and salt, adding half of the grated mozzarella and parmesan.
  3. Combine Mixtures: Pour yeast mixture into dry ingredients and add olive oil. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
  4. Knead the Dough: Knead on a floured surface for 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. First Rise: Place dough in greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  6. Prepare Herb Butter: Mix softened butter, minced garlic, and Italian herb blend in a small bowl.
  7. Shape the Dough: After rising, punch down dough, roll into a rectangle, spread herb butter, and add remaining cheese and parsley. Roll tightly.
  8. Second Rise: Place seam-side down in greased loaf pan, cover and let rise for an additional 30-45 minutes.
  9. Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden and sounds hollow when tapped.
