Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 6 tablespoons of softened unsalted butter with 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce. Mix until thoroughly blended.
  2. Divide 1 pound of ground beef into four portions, shaping them into patties about ¾-inch thick. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Spread 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter on the insides of the buns. Toast them butter-side down in a skillet over medium heat for about 2 minutes.
  4. Increase the skillet temperature to medium-high, place the seasoned patties in, and smash with a spatula for 10 seconds. Cook for 2-3 minutes until edges brown.
  5. Remove patties from the skillet, spread the butter mixture on top, and assemble on each toasted bun. Add desired toppings before serving.
