Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine 6 tablespoons of softened unsalted butter with 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce. Mix until thoroughly blended.
- Divide 1 pound of ground beef into four portions, shaping them into patties about ¾-inch thick. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Spread 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter on the insides of the buns. Toast them butter-side down in a skillet over medium heat for about 2 minutes.
- Increase the skillet temperature to medium-high, place the seasoned patties in, and smash with a spatula for 10 seconds. Cook for 2-3 minutes until edges brown.
- Remove patties from the skillet, spread the butter mixture on top, and assemble on each toasted bun. Add desired toppings before serving.

Notes
Make sure your skillet is hot enough for a crispy crust. Avoid pressing down on patties after flipping to keep them juicy. You can shape and freeze patties ahead of time.
