Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash 3-4 ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth, then mix in 1/3 cup of melted butter.
  3. Sprinkle in 1 teaspoon of baking soda and a pinch of salt, then mix well.
  4. Add 3/4 cup of granulated sugar, 1 beaten egg, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, then mix until well combined.
  5. Fold in 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour gently until no dry flour remains.
  6. Fold in 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped nuts if using.
  7. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
