Description

Enjoy bold, savory, and slightly sweet flavors with this easy Air Fryer Chicken Bulgogi (Dak Bulgogi). Juicy, marinated chicken thighs cook to perfection in the air fryer, skillet, or grill, bringing authentic Korean BBQ flavors to your home in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/2 Korean pear (or apple/pear juice substitute)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 tbsp gochujang (optional for spice)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: Blend the Korean pear, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, avocado oil, and gochujang until smooth.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Coat the chicken in the marinade and let it rest for at least 1 hour, or overnight for deeper flavor.
  3. Cooking Options:
    • Air Fryer: Preheat to 385°F and cook for 25 minutes, flipping halfway.
    • Pan-Fry: Sear in a hot skillet until golden brown, then finish with extra marinade.
    • Grill: Cook on low heat for about 8 minutes per side until fully cooked.
  4. Serve & Garnish: Plate the chicken, garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, and serve with steamed rice, lettuce wraps, or pickled vegetables.

Notes

  • Marinate overnight for the best flavor.
  • Avoid over-marinating (over 24 hours) to prevent the chicken from becoming mushy.
  • Adjust gochujang quantity for desired spice level.
