Description

There’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of biting into crispy sweet potato fries, and with an air fryer, you can enjoy this treat guilt-free. These fries are seasoned to perfection, cooked with minimal oil, and served with a creamy dipping sauce that takes them to the next level. Perfect for snacks, sides, or even as a party appetizer, this recipe is easy, healthy, and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

For the Sweet Potato Fries:

  • Sweet potatoes (1½ pounds, peeled and cut into ¼-inch sticks)
  • Olive oil (3 tablespoons)
  • Paprika (1 teaspoon)
  • Garlic powder (½ teaspoon)
  • Onion powder (½ teaspoon)
  • Salt (½ teaspoon, or to taste)
  • Ground black pepper (¼ teaspoon)

For the Dipping Sauce:

  • Mayonnaise (1 cup)
  • Ketchup (½ cup)
  • Vinegar (1 tablespoon)
  • Worcestershire sauce (1 teaspoon)
  • Paprika (1 teaspoon)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Sweet Potatoes:

  • Wash and peel the sweet potatoes, then cut them into uniform ¼-inch sticks.
  • Pat dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.

2. Season the Fries:

  • Place the sweet potato sticks in a large bowl.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat.
  • Sprinkle with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss again to distribute the seasonings evenly.

3. Preheat the Air Fryer:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) to ensure even cooking.

4. Cook the Fries:

  • Arrange the sweet potato fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding.
  • Cook for 25–30 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure crispiness.

5. Make the Dipping Sauce:

  • While the fries cook, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and paprika in a small bowl until smooth.
  • Optionally, chill the sauce in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes to enhance the flavors.

6. Serve:

  • Transfer the crispy sweet potato fries to a serving plate, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve with the dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Customization: Add a pinch of cayenne for spice, or swap olive oil for avocado oil for a different flavor.
  • Storage: Leftover fries can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer for best results.
