Description

Apple Fritter Bites are delicious, bite-sized treats made with diced apples and a sweet batter, perfect for a quick dessert or snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the diced apples, flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well to coat the apples with the dry ingredients.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; it’s okay if there are a few lumps.
  3. In a deep skillet or pot, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F.
  4. Using a small cookie scoop or tablespoon, carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil. Fry in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  5. Remove the fritter bites with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. While still warm, dust with powdered sugar.
  6. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For a caramel twist, drizzle warm caramel sauce over the fritter bites before serving.
  • Add a handful of chopped nuts or raisins to the batter for extra texture and flavor.
