Description
Beef Bulgogi is a flavorful Korean dish made with marinated beef sirloin, grilled to perfection and served with vegetables.
Ingredients
- 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
- 1 medium carrot, julienned
- 1/2 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, vegetable oil, garlic, ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Whisk until the sugar is dissolved.
- Add the sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for more flavor.
- Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer, cooking for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
- Add the sliced onion and carrot to the skillet, stirring to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- For a sweeter flavor, increase the brown sugar to 3 tablespoons.
- Serve with steamed rice or lettuce wraps for a low-carb option.
