Description

A delicious and creamy Blackened Shrimp Cavatappi recipe that combines perfectly seasoned shrimp with pasta and a rich sauce.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cavatappi pasta
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon blackening seasoning
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the cavatappi pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the shrimp with the blackening seasoning until evenly coated.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are opaque and cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the cherry tomatoes and garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the tomatoes start to soften.
  5. Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Stir in the cooked cavatappi and Parmesan cheese. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
  7. Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss everything together. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the blackening seasoning.
  • You can substitute the shrimp with chicken or tofu for a different protein option.
