Ingredients

  • 2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Continue cooking, stirring frequently, until the butter turns a golden brown color and has a nutty aroma, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
