Description
A delicious recipe for Brown Sugar Cajun Wings that combines sweet and spicy flavors for a perfect appetizer or main dish.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons hot sauce (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet for the wings to crisp up.
- In a large bowl, combine the Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss them in the spice mixture until they are evenly coated.
- In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and hot sauce (if using) until well combined.
- Pour the brown sugar mixture over the seasoned wings and toss until they are fully coated.
- Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are crispy and caramelized.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, broil the wings for an additional 2-3 minutes after baking.
- You can also substitute the Cajun seasoning with your favorite spice blend for a different flavor profile.
