It’s soft, buttery, and topped with a luscious glaze, making it perfect for breakfast, dessert, or any time you need a sweet treat. Plus, it’s incredibly easy to make and is sure to impress everyone who tastes it!

Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup white granulated sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups milk (room temperature)
  • ½ cup salted butter (melted)

For the Cinnamon Filling:

  • ¾ cup salted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

For the Glaze:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 5 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Prepare the Oven and Pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
  • Make the Cake Batter: In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and baking powder. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and milk. Gradually mix in melted butter until just combined—avoid overmixing.
  • Pour the Batter into the Pan: Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  • Make the Cinnamon Filling: In a small bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon to form a thick paste.
  • Swirl the Filling: Drop spoonfuls of cinnamon filling over the cake batter. Use a butter knife to gently swirl it into the batter, creating a marble effect.
  • Bake the Cake: Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Prepare the Glaze: While the cake is baking, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk or powdered sugar as needed.
  • Glaze the Cake: Once the cake is out of the oven, pour the glaze over the warm cake, allowing it to seep into the swirls.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Let the cake cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Room Temperature Ingredients: Use milk and eggs at room temperature for a smoother batter.
  • Don’t Overmix: Stir the batter gently to keep the cake light and fluffy.
  • Butter for Filling: Ensure the butter for the filling is softened (not melted) to make it easier to swirl.
  • Custom Glaze: Add a dash of cinnamon or almond extract to the glaze for an extra flavor twist.
