Experience the perfect fusion of two beloved desserts: the classic crème brûlée and buttery cookies. These Crème Brûlée Cookies feature a soft, chewy base topped with a layer of crunchy caramelized sugar. Impress your guests or indulge in a sweet treat with this elegant and easy recipe!

Ingredients

Cookie Dough:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt

Caramelized Topping:

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven & Prep Baking Sheets
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Cream Butter & Sugars
In a large bowl, beat softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add Eggs & Vanilla
Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients until combined.
  • Shape Cookies
Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, and slightly flatten on prepared baking sheets, leaving 2 inches between each.
  • Bake
Bake for 12–14 minutes until edges are golden and centers are set. Cool on a wire rack.
  • Prepare Caramel Topping
In a small saucepan, heat sugar and water over medium heat until sugar dissolves and caramel turns amber. Quickly spoon onto cooled cookies.

Notes

  • Use softened butter for best results.
  • Room-temperature eggs help the dough mix evenly.
  • Work swiftly with caramel to prevent it from hardening too soon.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
