Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 cup refried beans
- 8 tostada shells
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup sour cream
- ½ cup salsa
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F. Place the tostada shells on a baking sheet and bake for about 5-7 minutes until they are crispy and golden.
- In a medium bowl, combine the shredded chicken, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well to ensure the chicken is evenly seasoned.
- Spread a layer of refried beans on each tostada shell.
- Top the beans with the seasoned chicken mixture.
- Add shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes on top of the chicken.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the toppings.
- Return the tostadas to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven and drizzle with sour cream and salsa.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños on top before serving.
